My outlook used to take 1 minute to startup.
If you are facing similar issues,
Do this
In Vista, Rename C:"Users"<username>"AppData"Local"Microsoft"Outlook"extend.dat to extend.old.
Shud be similar folder in Other OS's
Wao it opens up in 6 seconds..
