PCI host, PCI master

Host is NOT a PCI term.
In PCI world, an agent that starts transaction is called a master or iniator,and an agemt that accepts transaction is called a target.
In CPU world, such as Motorola world, they are called master and slave, respectively.
In a system with CPU and PCI Bus, north bridg is often called host bridge.
